Point of View in Fiction

There are many things to think about when creating your timeless best-seller: plot, scene, setting, characters, dialogue and more. One of the most critical elements, and arguably an item that will lose your readers if not properly and consistently written, is point of view (POV).

Point of View is simply a literary term for defining who is seeing and/or telling the action in your story. Who is the narrator? Many aspiring writers want to tell the story themselves (commonly called a non-character narrator) but the main reason for letting your characters handle the job, is that it’s their story.

So which character do you choose? What if many of the characters share important parts of the story?
